| Behaviour Management at White Rock State School is based on 2 documents:
(1) The Code of School Behaviour
This code is followed by every State School in Queensland. A copy of this 2 page document is included in the parent handbook. When you enrol a student in any Queensland State School you will be asked to sign a statement that you have been shown and accepted the Code of Behaviour.
(2) The Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students
This is a longer document which has been developed by the school after widespread consultation. It reflects local issues, attitudes and values. A strong Anti-Bullying Policy is an important part of this plan. Some highlights include:
At White Rock State School everyone has rights and responsibilities. These Rights and Responsibilities can be encapsulated into 3 general rule

Pro-Active and Positive Activities
There are many ways to reinforce behaviour through a positive approach.
The following activities are undertaken by the whole school where applicable.
GotchaAwards Used by teachers on Playground duty for children seen acting responsibly by caring for the environment, being kind to others etc. Winner drawn weekly on parade. These green slips are in carry bags teachers take with them on duty.
Levels of Excellence An on-going program operating in the Upper School (Years 4-7) to encourage students to display effort and achievement in their daily lives. Students accumulate points in Classwork, Extra-Curricula activities, Citizenship and Community Activities in order to attain the bronze, silver and gold levels of this program.
Pupil of the Week At the discretion of the class teacher. For middle and upper classes the students could play a role in nominating a peer for the award and give a reason for their choice. Encourages children to think and say positive things about each other. Teacher has final say and presents award on Parade each week.
Sports Events Reports to be put in the newsletter after each event to acknowledge achievements and keep children and parents informed.
Buddy Classes At the start of the year each upper classes to be paired with lower classes to encourage positive interactions across age levels. Teachers to organise activities so that this type of interaction is fostered.
